Fred Amram, author and retired University of Minnesota professor, will discuss his book We’re in America Now: A Survivor’s Stories on Wednesday, November 9 at 4:00 p.m. at the University of Minnesota Bookstore in Coffman Memorial Union, 300 Washington Ave. S.E. Minneapolis.

We’re in America Now is a riveting memoir beginning with the author’s birth during the rise of Hitler in 1930s Germany. Amram, a Holocaust survivor, recounts witnessing Kristallnacht and the Gestapo invading his home. He watched the British bombers from his balcony when Jews were banned from air raid shelters. Learn about his escape to Holland and journey to America and the many challenges he and his surviving family members faced as immigrants in a new world. Amram shares his experiences in hopes of ending genocide everywhere.
