Natalie Goldberg presents Writing Down the Bones and The Great Spring

Thirty years have passed since the bestselling book on writing Writing Down the Bones was published. Author Natalie Goldberg was living in Uptown, Minneapolis when she wrote the book, while studying at the Minnesota Zen Center on Lake Calhoun.

Now with a 30th anniversary edition just published, a “Natalie Goldberg Day” proclaimed by the mayor of Taos, New Mexico (her home), and a new book on her life as a writer over the last several decades, Natalie Goldberg is returning to Uptown to share her work.

In her new book, The Great Spring, Goldberg shares her deeply personal insights that have sprung from three decades of writing, teaching, and traveling—moments of searching, wandering, zigzagging, losing, and leaping to where she found herself and her voice. Several chapters recount her experience in the Twin Cities, in fact, the title of the book came to her while staying in St. Paul a few years ago.

Natalie Goldberg is the author of fourteen books, including the bestselling Writing Down the Bones and Wild Mind. A renowned teacher, speaker, and painter, she lives in New Mexico.
