The event creator says
We are gathering to celebrate the life of Robert S. Wallace Jr. He died at age 68 on March 27 from complications of cancer. He was born in Lake City, MN, to Nita and Robert S. Wallace Sr. He attended Lincoln High School, where he played football and was a state track star. He was a eagle scout as well. After high school he attended Gustavus college and the University of Minnesota. During that time he worked for the US Postal Service. In 1968 he was drafted into Vietnam, he was in the Old Guard, performing forward reconnaissance and was part of a mortar crew. He spent the 1970's living on Nicollet Island, holding down jobs as a bartender at the 400 bar on the West Bank while also working for the Minneapolis water treatment plant. He finished school at Brown Institute, and worked with different companies doing systems automation (Involved a lot of cursing at the computer). He was an avid biker, photographer, cook, and played numerous musical instruments. Music was his passion and was until the end. He married Molly J. Hanson in October of 1980, and was committed to his family life until the end. Together they raised three sons: Ian, Christopher, and Andrew.
