Starting A Play From Scratch (Seminar) says
A playwriting seminar taught by Michael Kinghorn, Playwrights' Center Affiliated Writer

This seminar will be offered twice:
Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 2:30-5:00 p.m. Central
Monday, October 10, 2016 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. Central

This seminar is designed for that beginner or intermediate playwright who is willing to set aside his or her previous notions of writing for the stage and start fresh—from scratch. That’s right. Put aside your assumptions about concept, plot and character, or your notions of works-in-progress workshops and new play development readings. This seminar will focus on how writing and acting work in tandem to create a new theatrical work. Participants should expect to write and perform (improvise and/or read aloud) during the seminar (even those participating at home on-line); consequently you should plan to bring loose leaf paper and something to write with to the seminar—pens and/or pencils for local participants—computers with email for on-line participants. Also, plan to wear loose, comfortable clothing for moving around.

VENUE: Online and at the Playwrights' Center
COST: $10 for members and $20 for non-members
