Tripping: A Visit To The Goodwill Outlet Saturday, March 21 From 9:15 11:00 Am

Time Out says
Ever wonder what happens to the stuff you drop off at the Goodwill?
Join Julie for a tour of our local Goodwill Outlet -- the warehouse where much of Goodwill's donated product gets one last chance at consumer rescue before being crated up for the secondhand goods wholesale market.
The Goodwill Outlet is a seven-days-a-week, multi-ethnic curiosity: multiple languages are the norm, and single shoes function as a sort of social currency across cultures.
The outlet is also more industrial warehouse than retail store -- and there are unwritten, unspoken rules of conduct. Not following them is likely to result in a scolding by outlet staff.
We want to help you avoid being outed as an outlet novice, so we will meet at Junket before the store opens, and briefly discuss some key 'rules' and what to expect. Then, we'll head over to the outlet to experience the mad morning rush and spend an hour or so plucking treasure from among the bins and bays.
What: A Field Trip to the Goodwill Outlet
Where: Meet at Junket at 8:30; carpool/caravan to the Outlet at 280 & University in St. Paul for the Outlet's 10AM opening.
When: 9:15 AM - 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 21
Who: 18 and up.
Cost: $36/person
Details: Cloth shopping bags and long sleeves encouraged, and you may wish to bring gloves.
