Join Julie for a tour of our local Goodwill Outlet -- the warehouse where much of Goodwill's donated product gets one last chance at consumer rescue before being crated up for the secondhand goods wholesale market. The Goodwill Outlet is a seven-days-a-week, multi-ethnic curiosity: multiple languages are the norm, and single shoes function as a sort of social currency across cultures. The outlet is also more industrial warehouse than retail store -- and there are unwritten, unspoken rules of conduct. Not following them is likely to result in a scolding by outlet staff. We want to help you avoid being outed as an outlet novice, so we will meet at Junket before the store opens, and briefly discuss some key 'rules' and what to expect. Then, we'll head over to the outlet to experience the mad morning rush and spend an hour or so plucking treasure from among the bins and bays.
