Winners of semifinal slams in five Tennessee counties will celebrate youth voice and compete to determine who is headed to the Brave New Voices International Poetry Slam in Atlanta this summer.

Featuring poets from Nashville School of the Arts, Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet, Station Camp High School, Empire Beauty School, Independence High School, Franklin High School, Memphis, and more.

Hosted by Xero Skidmore (http://www.xeroskidmore.com/) from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Xero is the 2013 Individual World Slam Champion and Executive Director of Forward Arts.

Visitor parking is in the John Merritt Plaza (corner of Merritt Blvd. and 33rd Avenue North across from Hale Stadium and airplane/side entrance to Kean Hall; the Forum is on the main/2nd floor of the Floyd-Payne Campus Center which is connected to Kean Hall). Other campus parking lots are restricted to persons with TSU ID/parking permits. Once the visitor parking lot is full, other options include on-street parking (one side of 33rd Avenue North and/or 32nd Avenue North between Merritt and Alameda Streets).
