Join us for the Inauguration of Mayor Megan Barry, Vice Mayor David Briley and the Metropolitan Council members on Friday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. in the grand ballroom of the Music City Center. Witness history as the first female mayor of Nashville is officially sworn into office. A meet-and-greet with the mayor will follow the ceremony.

Inauguration activities will include:
• A poetry reading from Nashville’s very first Youth Poet Laureate, Lagnajita Mukhopadhyay
• A special flavor from Goozy Gelato and Las Paletas popsicles
• Performances by the Stratford High School Marching Band, Kurdish Dance Group and the Glencliff High School Mariachi Band
• Musical guests, including Nashville in Harmony and the Temple Church Choir

Transportation to Inauguration:
• Nashville MTA will provide bus service on all routes at no charge on Friday, September 25, 2015, in honor of the inauguration of Mayor-elect Megan Barry, Vice Mayor-elect David Briley and the new members of the Metro Council.
• For those who live or work downtown, the Music City Circuit will be available and operating on its usual routes.
• The Nashville Downtown Partnership will provide free parking and complimentary shuttle service from Nissan Stadium’s Lot A to from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Interfaith Prayer Service:
Mayor-elect Barry’s interfaith prayer service will be at Watson Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, Sept. 25, at 7:30 a.m. Parking is very limited. MTA routes No. 2 – Belmont, No. 17 – 12th Avenue South and No. 25 – Midtown serve the area with bus stops a few short blocks from the church.
