The event creator says
Insatiable longing and sentiment’s of love are two of the most profound dimensions of the human experience. As an artist in selecting the repertoire for my graduate recital, it was important for me to choose music that reflected aspects of my life. Since the beginning of my musical endeavors, I have been greatly drawn to Romanticism, mainly because of its emotional and poignant content.

In this Master of Music Recital for tenor, the themes of love and longing in various stages unify the recital while featuring a wide range of emotions universal to the human experience. The interesting styles of the composers differ in many respects, but ultimately share traits supportive of the similar texts found in each setting. Through the contrasts of moods, shifts in musical style, and textual features in each piece, a unifying thread of love and longing provides a compelling narrative from beginning to end.

The recital will feature the works of Benjamin Britten, Stefano Donaudy, Ernest Chausson, Roger Quilter, Ernest Charles, and the first seven songs from Robert Schumann's "Dichterliebe".

I hope that you will join me and thank you for your continued support!
