Second Annual Commons Blood Drive says
Every 2 seconds, someone in America needs blood. Although 38% of Americans are able to donate, only about 5% of people do. You can save up to three lives by donating and it only takes an hour. Pretty crazy stuff huh?
On Monday January 30th, the second annual Commons Blood Drive will take place in the Commons Center Multi-purpose Room (second floor, right across from the stairs) from 10am-3pm. If you are interested in donating please, please sign up through the following link! (http://www.redcrossblood.org/rcbmobile/drive/chooseDonationTime.jsp?zipFormat=false). Type in Vandy19 as the sponsor code and then select the Vanderbilt University Commons Center drive.
It takes no more than 2 minutes and makes things much easier for the Red Cross personnel. There are plenty of legitimate reasons why you may not be eligible to donate so before signing up please check out this website: http://www.bloodcenters.org/donate-blood/am-i-eligible/.
If you are planning on donating, 1) thank you!!! 2) Read through the short list on this website (http://www.redcrossblood.org/donating-blood/tips-successful-donation) to ensure that your donation process goes as smoothly as possible. Spoiler alert, stay hydrated the day of and remember your license!
Join the 5% and give back to your local community (all the blood collected at this drive will help patients in local hospitals) by committing an hour of your time on a random Monday. If you have any questions or difficulty signing up through the Red Cross website feel free to message me.
