JNOLA: Your Hub for Next Gen Jewish Life in New Orleans says
As Americans, we know that criticizing American politics and politicians does not mean we don’t support America. When it comes to Israeli politics, divisiveness runs just as deep, but what crosses the line from criticism to delegitimization? The challenges facing Israel and world Jewry today are powerful and elicit strong feelings from all members of the community. Having a constructive discourse is a challenge.

Suri Grussgott is the Assistant Director of the World Jewish Congress, North America – an international organization that represents Jewish communities and organizations in 100 countries around the world. It advocates on their behalf towards governments, parliaments, international organizations and other faiths. The WJC represents the plurality of the Jewish people, and is politically non-partisan.

On Monday, May 8, Suri is coming to New Orleans for a conversation about navigating the support and criticism facing Israel locally and globally as well as other similar issues facing Jewish communities worldwide. The issues Israel faces are powerful and draw passionate responses. The first step in understanding and educating each other is having a forum where questions about Israel can be asked.

We hope you’ll join JNOLA, the Jewish Community Relations Council, and World Jewish Congress upstairs at Avenue Pub at 5:30 p.m. for this important and open conversation.
