East Cameron Folkcore says
Austin-based octet East Cameron Folkcore's music combines elements of folk rock, hardcore, Americana, and atmospheric post-punk. Kingdom of Fear, their ambitious third album, sublimates social unrest into a personal and poetic art form. Recorded over the first half of 2014, the album's fourteen songs are divided into four chapters that bleed together in gap less order, creating a carefully curated and and expertly sequenced collection. The power of punk meets the down-to-earthness of folk, gospel choir meets banjo-twang, fist meets soul, Jack White meets Tom Waits, melancholic cello-line meets in-your-face-power riffs, spartan introspection meets baroque opulence.

"Big, brash and charming!" - NPR All Songs Considered

"They are possibly the only band to site both Black Flag and Gustav Mahler as an influence." - American Songwriter Magazine

"A celebratory madness - music against the system, with brain, heart and clenched fist." - Rolling Stone

“East Cameron Folkcore plays every show as if their lives depend on it. The Austin eight piece unleashes a galvanizing force that’s part social protest, part cathartic release, part celebratory anthem. All wrangled through the vital voice of a restless and wanting generation. Like new-era Springsteens, ECF may be beaten down by hard realities, but the force of their music refuses to break.” - Austin Chronicle

"’Our City’...A genuine gentrification anthem." - Esquire

"One of Austin’s boldest and brightest bands….A musical juxtaposition of largely traditional song forms with a performance style that’s more akin to hardcore punk abandon." - Peter Blackstock (Austin American Statesman)

"Kingdom of Fear is an album meant to be played loud with windows down and a clenched fist held high... At the end of the day, there's something to be said for art that breathes, bleeds and spits with energy, passion and vigor. Kingdom of Fear is such an album. And for that, we as music listeners should be thankful." - Absolute Punk
