A Gallery for Fine Photography is thrilled to present Joel-Peter Witkin: The World is Not Enough, a retrospective exhibition of one of the most fascinating and controversial American photographers working today. Featuring images selected in collaboration between the artist and gallery owner Joshua Mann Pailet, The World is Not Enough is a show many years in the making.

In conjunction with PhotoNOLA, Joel Peter Witkin: The World is Not Enough features a selection of works spanning nearly four decades of the artist’s career, from his ground-breaking, shock-inducing photographs of the early-to-mid 1980s to his more compassionate, contemplative works of today. Imbued with a deep sense of wonder for the darkly mysterious aspects of human life and a true empathy for those that live in the shadows, Witkin’s photographs reflect his complex spirituality and seek “to bring light to the darkness.”

On view December 10 through March 10.
