Meet And Greet Book Signing Marlene Trestman says
Join us in welcoming Marlene Trestman, New Orleans native and former special assistant to the Maryland attorney general and former law instructor at Loyola University of Maryland's Sellinger School of Business and Management. Trestman's book is a biography based on the life of Tulane and Yale Alumna Bessie Margolin. Also a New Orleans native, Margolin was an advocate for the Supreme Court where she won 21 of 24 arguments she presented to champion the wage and hour rights of millions of american workers while overcoming anti-Semitism and sexism. Margolin was also inducted into the Tulane Law School Hall of Fame in 2013. Marlene Trestman had a personal relationship with Margolin that grew from common childhood experiences. Although separated in age by 50 years, they were both Jewish orphans in New Orleans who graduated from Isidore Newman School. Margolin became a mentor to Trestman during her years at Goucher College, at GW law school, and into her 30 years career as a government lawyer.
