Moving Forward In The Wake Of The 2016 Election says
What happened? What is to be done? The 2016 election has ushered in a resurgence and intensification of right-wing extremism. Racist, patriarchal, xenophobic, Islamophobic, heterosexist and transphobic politics have been given a new legitimacy in the election of the Trump administration. Up against a new reign of dangerous policy programs that will extend violence at home and abroad, now is a critical moment to come together to build powerful movements for racial justice and collective liberation.

Join us for a panel discussion with long term Louisiana racial justice activists Malcolm Suber, Monique Verdin, and a leader from the Congress of Day Laborers to discuss how we ended up in this moment, what we are up against in the coming years, and how to plug into movement building in New Orleans and beyond.

This event is hosted by European Dissent-New Orleans an organization mobilizing white people towards collective liberation from racism as part of a multiracial movement for a more just society. All are welcome.

Children are welcome, and childcare will be provided.
