Born and raised in New Orleans, Stanton Moore is a dedicated drummer and performer especially connected to the city, its culture and collaborative spirit. Driven and inspired by the thriving music scene of his hometown which includes such greats as Professor Longhair, Doctor John and The Meters, Moore’s name is now mentioned amongst these Big Easy mainstays.

As a master of his instrument, James Singleton is one of the most sought-out bassists in the city. As a multi-instrumentalist, composer, bandleader and producer, his musical prowess can be heard in a variety of different groups, formats and genres, from jazz and experimental to funk and R&B. His performing personality shines with each appearance as he commands his instrument to strum, move and bend to his every whim. With a combination of plucking, gliding and a bow, the rhythms and melodies he produces push the very limits of the upright bass and guide listeners to a far off place of depth and complexity.

Robert Walter performs all his own stunts. For 20 years, the San Diego native has been pulling drawbars and pushing the limits of the Hammond B3 organ. In the late 1990’s Walter started his own group Robert Walter’s 20th Congress to showcase his composing. The band became known for its live performances and toured throughout the 90’s and 2000’s. Walter relocated to New Orleans in 2004 and became immersed the vibrant local music scene. He began collaborating with Johnny Vidacovich, Stanton Moore, James Singleton, George Porter Jr and many more. After Katrina Walter relocated back west to Los Angeles where he currently works on film music with composer Michael Andrews. He is joined on this show by Simon Lott on drums and Carly Meyers on trombone.
