About SVA MFA Fine Arts visiting New Orleans:
MFA in Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts is a graduate program based in the heart of NYC. We pride ourselves on embracing a wide range of art-making practices. We call our approach “un-disciplinary” because we’ve tossed out musty old-school doctrines in favor of an unconventional approach: We champion the unique visions of emerging artists by offering a custom-fit curriculum, and foster a community that is constantly exploring new ideas. Program Chair Mark Tribe, world class professors like Kameelah Rasheed, Kalup Linzy and Fred Wilson, and over 50 visiting artists each year prepare students for a professional artists‘ life, in and out of the studio.

From June 29-July 5, 2016, we will be in New Orleans. We’ll host a mixer and a performance, all free and open to the public.
