The All Star Covered Dish Country Jamboree, Season 5, #15, Celebrating! says
Folks, there are many good reasons to celebrate this week; Love, Friendship, and Great Music being in our top three- and this week's show is an exceptional way to get things rolling. We have three great bands lined up for your listening and dancing pleasure, as well as a pot-luck supper (please bring a dish!), Sugar Park pizza, Country Dance Lessons, Live Country Auction and much much more!
Our friends from Asheville, the Resonant Rouges, are on the road and have decided to make the Jamboree one of their stops.
The Resonant Rogues have ears for the past and eyes toward the future. Partners Sparrow and Keith J. Smith write songs that transcend genres, blending Gypsy jazz and Balkan music with American folk traditions like old-time and blues. Their infectious melodies and eloquent lyrics bring a nouveau pop sensibility to their old fashioned style. Can't wait to hear their new songs!
There will be a Country Dance Lesson between sets, no need to be shy-no experience necessary, just a willing heart!
The Wasted Lives are up next, with their own special Louisiana blend of Hillbilly, Honky-Tonk and Rockabilly-Swing music for your listening and dancing pleasure.
Jeff Boston will be there for a Live Country Auction! Bring items to sell make a little whiskey money or win a special "authentic Country item" for that special someone in your life!
We are proud to be the send-off party for a great friend, Mr. Izzy Zaidman and his band, the Catastrophics! Stitching together rock n' roll, swing, surf, honky-tonk, and bebop, Izzy and the Catastrophics are a profoundly exciting and challenging group. Often compared to rockabilly greats of the past, Izzy and his boys are carrying the tradition into the 21st century with flair and frenzy.
Rooted firmly in traditional American roots music with the chops to nail it and the grit to deliver it, Izzy and his boys are on a lifelong mission to heal the world's disenfranchised ears by exposing audiences to the glory of their own cultural lineage. Spiritually bound to professional principles yet prone to avant-garde interludes and playfully vulgar stage banter, the band is rapidly building a subculture from every facet of society. Izzy's shows are as likely to be filled with excitable counter-culture kids as with sentimental old drunks. If there is a common thread connecting everyone who cares for live music, Izzy and the Catastrophics are it.
