Adam Deitch’s career has crossed genres, focusing on hip-hop, funk and jazz, playing the role of both drummer and producer. The son of two professional funk drummers and Berklee grads, Adam first picked up his sticks at the age of two. His first gig was at a school assembly for his kindergarten class. Adam was inspired by hip-hop at an early age, inspired by Public Enemy and Eric B and Rakim, Adam began his production career by making loops on a tape deck in his bedroom and has gone on to produce tracks for some of today’s top artists including Ledisi, Matisyahu, 50-Cent, Redman, Talib Kweli, KRS-One and MF Doom.

Wil Blades, a native Chicagoan, has become the San Francisco Bay Area’s first call organist and is rapidly gaining momentum throughout the world. He has been named in the Downbeat critics poll under “Rising Star” for organ every year since 2006. Wil has kept the traditional sounds of Jimmy Smith, Larry Young, and “Groove” Holmes alive, while creating a more personal, modern sound. Wil has performed and recorded with John Lee Hooker, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Melvin Sparks, Idris Muhammad, Joe Louis Walker, Don Braden, Donald Harrison, Nicholas Payton, Karl Denson, Will Bernard, Scott Amendola, Charlie Hunter, Stanton Moore, Billy Martin, Anders Osborne, Jason Marsalis, Herlin Riley, Betty Joplin, Eddie Marshall, Herbie Lewis, and many others.

The Shady Horns are one the tightest and funkiest horn sections on the scene today. As the official horn section for funk legends Lettuce and former Blue Note recording artists Soulive, they also appear on all Lettuce records and numerous Soulive releases as well.
