We're patiently (read: not-so-patiently) waiting for American Dream Mall to blow our socks off.

The three-million-square-foot entertainment hub is gearing up for an Oct 25 opening, and its features include a Nickelodeon theme park, DreamWorks water park, the nation's first indoor snow park and, of course, plenty of shopping and dining options (though some offerings will open later in 2019 and early 2020, so plan ahead). It's bound to land on your list of favorite family attractions, and we're certain it is worth a trek across the Hudson.

Yes, traveling to Jersey can be tricky, but there's good news—especially for NYC families who only rely on the subway. American Dream just announced a partnership with NY Waterway, so there's no need to rent a car for those day trips from NYC

“We’re thrilled to partner with NY Waterway to provide American Dream guests and employees with a convenient, simple way to access our property from Manhattan,” Don Ghermezian, CEO of American Dream said in a statement. “We expect families both living in and visiting New York City to frequent our property, and I can’t think of a better way to begin the world-class experience than a short ride across the Hudson River with breathtaking views of Manhattan.”

Here's how it works:

Beginning on Oct 28, NY Waterway’s free multi-route shuttle buses (which run throughout the day) will bring visitors to the W 39th Street Midtown Ferry Terminal, where they'll embark on an eight-minute trip across the river to Port Imperial in Weehawken, NJ. (Ferries run every 10 minutes during morning and evening rush hours, and every 20 minutes during off-peak times.)

From there, dedicated shuttles (which run every 20 minutes on weekends and frequently throughout the week) will take guests to the mall, which is a 20-minute drive. Ferry and shuttle e-tickets can be purchased online for $16 each way and they must be redeemed at Midtown Terminal Ticket Office before boarding.

Have a look at the ferry schedule online before making your trip!

No need to worry about those car sing alongs now! (And what kid isn't up for quick boat ride?) We'll see you on the other side of the river.
