This Korean artist who divides her time between Berlin and Seoul is known for abstract works which, in her view, conceptually deconstruct the alienating effects of life under globalism. Whether they actually do is an open question, though her aesthetic balancing act between elegant minimalism and folkloric funk certainly has its pleasures. This show includes takeoffs on Sol LeWitt’s open cubes created with venetian blinds and fluorescent fixtures, and sculptures woven out of artificial straw, a technique that gives them the look tribal artifacts.
