Time Out says

Two of the Brooklyn Museum's period rooms—the Cupola House parlor and hall and the dining room of the Cane Acres Plantation—provide the settings for Hegarty's site-specific works, which allude to the usual bugbears of American history: racism, Manifest Destiny and the subjugation of Native Americans. One work here features a still-life tableau of black Hitchcockian birds descending on a table set for dinner; talk about coming home to roost!
