Laugh yourself silly at one of the myriad stand-up, sketch or improv shows at this bi-level bar, which is the arguable epicenter of Queens' comedy scene. Stick around for the midnight happy hour, which offers $2 off all drinks, and two-for-one margaritas (served in pint glasses) until closing time. Sop up all that booze with the joint's cheap and delectable Mexican fare, available until midnight on the weekend. Weather permitting, the back patio is also open late. 10-93 Jackson Ave at 49th Ave (718-706-8783, thecreekandthecave.com). Restaurant: Mon--Thu 11am--11pm; Fri, Sat 1pm--midnight; Sun 11am--10pm. Bar: Mon--Thu, Sun 3pm--2am; Fri, Sat 3pm--4am. Showtimes vary.
In addition to a solid list of brews on tap (Staropramen, Blue Point, Radeberger), LIC's massive beer garden also boasts a full lineup of weekly events, including open-mike nights and a newly launched rock & roll shindig, with DJs spinning classic tunes, every Tuesday (7pm--midnight). 35-33 36th St between 35th and 36th Aves (718-383-1001, studiosquarenyc.com). Mon--Thu 3pm--4am, Fri--Sun noon--4am.
This homey watering hole hosts performances several nights a week, including residencies from local bands—Brooklyn country combo the Stone Lonesome and Queens crooner Arthur Lewis will both hold court for several dates this month.
