Brooklyn Public House Take a trip through history at this old-timey gastropub, appropriately decorated with antique wallpaper and salvaged mirrors. Back in the 1950s, the space was occupied by a bar called Eric’s, remembered by locals for its Skip and Go Naked cocktail (vodka, gin, beer, lemon and sugar). Try this revived drink, plus 16 beers on tap—including gems such as Twisted Thistle and Belhaven Stout—and an extensive wine list at the 22-foot mahogany bar. Chef John Parlatore (Fig & Olive), meanwhile, oversees the pub grub, serving period fare like oysters and chops. 247 DeKalb Ave at Vanderbilt Ave, Fort Greene, Brooklyn (347-227-8976)
