New York is not shy of great thrift shops, and who doesn't love a good thrifting venture? But, it’s not every day that you can shop hard-to-find designer wares from a host that certainly knows a thing or two about vintage.
On Saturday and Sunday, Artists & Fleas will hold its annual fall Vintage Showcase from 11am-7pm in NoLita. Shop out-of-date (but it’s vintage, so it’s cool) bags, jewelry, shoes and clothing from over 25 collectors. And we hear that the designer picks are pretty damn good this year.
Big spenders should look out for the '90s Chanel leather tote with 18k gold plated hardware ($2,2000) or the Alexander McQueen black-studded Union Jack Britannia clutch ($1,100). But, if you’re looking to meet next months rent, marked down items like a white fur jacket ($198, originally $248), a reversible, satin long coat from MAVEN ($128) and a ‘70s-print pant set from Gilded Gypsies ($128, was $148) are hot ticket selections, too.
Whether you browse for yourself or one of your vintage-loving friends (the holidays are coming!) just make sure to mention Time Out New York at the checkout counter to receive an extra 30 percent off select items.
