The three best things to do in New York today

By Dana Varinsky

1. Get tipsy at NYC Cocktail Week
A $30 wristband gives you access to $4 cocktails and snacks at bars throughout the city all week, including Birds & Bubbles and Holiday Cocktail Lounge. The deals begin today and last through Friday, so if you plan to have a few drinks this week, it'll be worth shelling out for. (Various locations through Friday, $30)

2. Listen to indie rock at the Manhattan Vampires Club
A bunch of local indie-rockers, including TEEN, Nicole Atkins and Invisible Familiars are getting together tonight to honor legendary songwriters John Lennon and Harry Nilsson, as well as fellow Hollywood Vampires Micky Dolenz and Alice Cooper. They'll be playing at Manhattan Inn, the popular Greenpoint watering hole, and the show's free! (Manhattan Inn, 632 Manhattan Ave, 8:30pm, free)

3. Watch The Grand Budapest Hotel at Coney Island
This week, Coney Island Flicks on the Beach is screening one of our favorite Wes Anderson films. The quirky, beautifully composed movie follows the travails of a legendary concierge at a famous old hotel, and there's no better place to watch it than surrounded by waves and hot dogs. (Coney Island Boardwalk, West 10th St, 8:30pm, free)
