Brooklynite Melanie Rehak took us into the world of Nancy Drew and the women who created her in Girl Sleuth. Now a new mom, Rehak is back this time with a more personal tome, the hearty Eating for Beginners. While helping her picky toddler to develop solid eating habits, Rehak also spent a year in the kitchen of Park Slope's Applewood Restaurant to develop her own culinary knowledge, specifically regarding where our food comes from.
