Get a head start on your weekend at this groovy Tex-Mex restaurant, which kicks off happy hour on Fridays at 3pm and keeps going until 7pm. Canal Bar
Postindustrial Gowanus is a fitting place to drink during the workday, and this neighborhood dive delivers with a different special for each day of the week, including a $5 Tecate-and--Jose Cuervo combo on Tuesdays. The Gate

Blind Tiger
The hub of the West Village beer scene caters to daytime drinkers, with more than eight hours of reduced-price boozing (11:30am to 8pm). For beer lovers, the East Village's closest approximation of an English pub offers the perfect happy-hour triple play of length, quality and price. From 3 to 8pm (and 1 to 8pm on weekends), all drinks are half off. Nothing gets a playing-hooky party popping like tequila.
