Combine four of your favorite New York activities—sitting in Brooklyn Bridge Park, watching a movie, doing something (anything!) related to animals and not paying any money—with Syfy's 15th annual movie festival this summer. Running from July 10 to August 28, the festival will be screening a different movie (for free!) every Thursday at sundown, with DJs to keep you entertained if you get there early. And you should get there early.
This year's theme is animal-based, but don't worry, they're not scraping the barrel with stuff like Congo or Beethoven (although surely Air Bud: Golden Receiver wouldn't go amiss). Instead, many of the movies simply have animal-related titles. The full lineup is below—as always, the final screening of the festival will be decided by the public, so keep an eye on Brooklyn Bridge Park's website to see what will be chosen (last year was Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, which definitely seems appropriate for an outdoor film festival).
July 10: Duck Soup
July 17: Sharknado
July 24: Fantastic Mr. Fox
July 31: Beetlejuice
August 7: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
August 14: Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai
August 21: The Birds
August 28: Public vote
