TONY Film's rep pick of the day: Quadrophenia at BAM

Jump on your Vespa and revisit this Mod cinema classic

"We are the Mods! We are the Mods! We are, we are, we are the Mods!" The Who's classic album about alienated teens comes to the big screen, with electrifying results; for a generation of late ’70s kids, the whole concept of England's Mod culture was synonymous with a parka-clad Phil Daniels on a scooter. One Gordon Sumner—you may know him better as Sting— made his acting debut in this raucous adaptation as Ace Face, the self-proclaimed king of the Mods. But don’t hold that fact against the film, which is one of the best rock-opera films ever made.

Quadrophenia screens at 7 and 9:30pm at BAM Rose Cinemas.
