Brooklyn Philharmonic

The newly rebooted Brooklyn Philharmonic offers a pair of freebies to whet appetites prior to its upcoming season. On Sat 8, new Artistic Director Alan Pierson and some of the players are joined by hip-hop legend Mos Def for a chamber version of his "Life in Marvelous Times" arranged by Derek Bermel as part of the Restoration Rocks Music Festival. On Wed 12, Mos returns along with other special guests the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, Mellissa Hughes and Corey Dargel for a season preview concert that will be broadcast as part of WNYC's New Sounds Live.
