It's been a while—nearly two years—since we first heard about Bushwick venue the Wick. And while the space and its associated beer garden, the Well, have hosted a show here and there already (see Captured Tracks' five-year anniversary festival, for example), it's mostly been in the planning stages. But now, the plans are finally coming to long-awaited fruition: The concert space is expected to open Thursday, March 27.

Take a look at the shows booked so far by the Wick's owners, both of whom are Knitting Factory alums, and the lineup is a doozy. Free-improv master Keiji Haino kicks things off, followed by the Unsound Festival in early April; concerts by Marnie Stern, the Men and Liars, among others, will follow. One thing to note: Though the space is operational, it's still a bit of a work-in-progress. Expect a big debut party later this spring when the 8,000-square-foot venue is 100 percent fixed up. It looks like the Wick might be poised to become Brooklyn's next destination music venue—and that it was worth the wait.
