Boasting high amounts of both style and substance, Carpenter goes clubbing (digital organ in tow) to celebrate his latest album release on Telarc. Bach, the granddaddy of the pipe organ, will be fairly represented (including in Carpenter’s own lyrical Serenade and Fugue on B-A-C-H). Beyond that, however, are works by fellow nonconformists Liszt, Schubert, Shostakovich, Chopin and Moritz Moszkowski—an enviable mixtape to be sure. His digital organ may prevent him from breaking any pedals (as he famously did in Philadelphia), but still expect a performance worthy of any rock star.
