Ellery Eskelin

Saxist Ellery Eskelin’s former working trio, with drummer Jim Black and accordionist Andrea Parkins, delivered a punky blend of chaos and whimsy. Trio New York, Eskelin's equally compelling current three-piece with organist Gary Versace and drummer Jochen Rueckert (subbing tonight for Gerald Cleaver), privileges a gentle flow of ideas over an aesthetic of disruption. Tonight's show celebrates the recent self-released Trio New York II.
