Ernesto Cervini Quartet

We got to know Canadian drummer Ernesto Cervini's clean, buoyant playing in projects led by his sister, singer Amy Cervini, so the effervescent swing on his own new disc, Little Black Bird, comes as no surprise at all. Working with a quartet fronted by saxophonist Joel Frahm, Cervini proves himself a sharp composer and bandleader. He and Frahm celebrate the disc tonight with Dan Tepfer at the piano and Dan Loomis on bass.
