RECOMMENDED: See photos from the 2014 Firefly Music Festival!

On the first official weekend of the summer, Dover, Delaware was the destination of choice for hundreds of thousands of East Coast music fans ready to rock at the 2013 Firefly Music Festival. For its sophomore effort, Firefly delivered a stellar lineup featuring time-tested rockers Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as up-and-coming acts such as Kendrick Lamar, Alabama Shakes, ZZ Ward and Capital Cities. NYC was ably represented throughout the weekend with rousing performances from Vampire Weekend, Azealia Banks, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Matt and Kim, who whipped the audience into a beach-ball-bouncing, crowd-surfing frenzy during a sudden Sunday downpour (after two days of ridiculously perfect festival weather).

Time Out roadtripped down to the First State to soak in the scene at Firefly and, as the venerable Mr. Petty would say, "Take it easy, baby."
