Paper Swan: The Synthetic Blues + Free Advice + Relatives + Kendy Gable + Jason Zucker

While Brooklyn’s best-known exports may be grandiose (Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors), the borough's also growing bluegrass, thanks to local promoters like Paper Swan, a ramshackle collective that has been organizing Bushwick loft parties since 2007. The artists assembled at tonight’s show have a genuine love of vintage bluegrass, but sing and play with the fiery fervor of teenagers. Our fave at tonight's show is Brooklyn bluegrass trio Free Advice—the band is a rollicking good time live.
