Gordon Voidwell, a group that Das Racist member Himanshu Suri calls, “a reclamation of black music from the Talking Heads,” is a retro-funk outfit centered on Will Johnson. Tracks like “Ivy League Circus” and “Standard & Poor (Bread)” exhibit pulsing, synth-fraught, futuristic grooves. Tonight the group is joined by local art-punk duo Talk Normal and mournful yet highly rhythmic Brooklyn band Glass Ghost at this party hosted by The Deli.
