The Whammies

A number of bands have taken up the idiosyncratic songbook of soprano-sax icon Steve Lacy since his passing in 2004, but there's one thing that sets the Whammies apart: Dutch drummer Han Bennink, who collaborated with Lacy numerous times over the years. The rest of the starry band includes Bennink's ICP bandmate Mary Oliver on violin, Boston luminaries Jorrit Dijkstra and Pandelis Karayorgis, and Chicago mainstays Nate McBride and Jeb Bishop.
