Catching Sleater-Kinney spin-off Wild Flag live is a simply mind-blowing experience; the energy captured on the band's album, which was recorded live, is nothing compared to seeing guitarists Carrie Brownstein and Mary Timony trading solos, or Janet Weiss's fierce, propulsive drumming in person. When you pair that with a set from early-’80s Boston combo Mission of Burma, whose old dudes keep their bracing, influential art-punk super fierce live, you've got one hell of a bill. Jersey rocker Ted Leo, who presents a kind of indie-rock take on working-class Springsteen, opens.
