Adorable baby walrus coming to the New York Aquarium

The New York Aquarium will welcome an orphaned baby walrus named Mitik, who was rescued in Alaska.

The New York Aquarium is about get a very adorable, chubby addition: A baby walrus calf named Mitik, who was found off the coast of Alaska in July, will soon make the journey from the Alaska SeaLife Center to Brooklyn. The New York Times has the full scoop (and one of the more hilarious headlines of the year: "A Fat, Mustachioed Orphan Finds a Home"), along with this wonderful quote from Martha Hiatt, the behavioral-husbandry supervisor at the Aquarium: "We say he is small, but scrappy—the perfect New Yorker.”
