Last-minute plan: Nirvana Night at Spectacle Theater

Spectacle Theater hosts a Nirvana-themed party to honor the 21st anniversary of the band's seminal album, Nevermind.

On this day 21 years ago, Nirvana's seminal album Nevermind was released. Much has been written on how influential that record was, so instead of sharing our own memories of hearing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" for the first time, we'll just direct you to an event happening tonight at Williamsburg's Spectacle Theater. They're hosting Nirvana Night (8pm; $5), which will feature two film screenings: The first, I Hate Myself & I Want to Die, is a compilation of interviews and other footage related to Kurt Cobain & Co. (including, apparently, Lana Del Rey's ill-advised cover of "Heart-Shaped Box," which makes us sad). The second is a surprise! If you need to get in the mood, check out the video for "In Bloom" above, which we've always considered the superior single from Nevermind.
