Next Wave Festival. The Kronos Quartet’s carefully crafted response to 9/11, which premiered in San Francisco in 2006 for the fifth anniversary, grapples with the difficult questions that burst to the surface in the aftermath of the attacks. The evening-length program moves from traditional music of the Middle East and South Asia through powerful responses to the attacks by composers like Michael Gordon and John Oswald before eventually getting to Terry Riley’s soul-soothing One Earth, One People, One Love (performed here with the energetic Brooklyn Youth Chorus).
