Who else is glad that the weekend is nearly upon us? (TGIF, amirite?) Despite today's on-and-off downpours, it looks like the weekend is supposed to be pretty clear—and that's a good thing, because there are a boatload of outdoor festivals happening. Do you like seeing art in unexpected spots? Check out the Dumbo Arts Festival, staged throughout the Brooklyn neighborhood. Are you into spicy food? The Chile Pepper Fiesta at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden has plenty of fiery dishes (and actual fire, thanks to MCs Robbins and Ringold). If you like large-scale science experiments, check out the World Maker Faire in Queens, where a human-size version of Mouse Trap is among the many displays on view. The Atlantic Antic—one of the city's biggest street festivals—features live music, food from Brooklyn vendors and a special Sixpoint Atlantic Antic Amber brew. And if you just want to gnaw on a giant roasted turkey leg, head uptown to the Medieval Festival in Fort Tryon Park.
