Time Out says

Though this women’s chain has been around for more than a decade, it’s often overshadowed by its Goliath competitor, Lane Bryant. But Avenue’s casual, trendy apparel in sizes 14 to 32 shouldn’t be overlooked, if only for the impressive selection of LBDs (short-sleeved, ruffled, empire waist; $30–$65). You’ll have to use an editing eye, but once you weed through the Ed Hardy–inspired tees ($25–$30) and some less-than-appealing prints, you’ll uncover affordable gems, like a gray striped top with three-quarter ruched sleeves ($30) and a solid tunic with shoulder cutouts ($13). There’s also denim galore, and though a pair of jeans will run you just $26 to $53, we’re partial to the dresses made out of the material, like a button-tab pleated shift ($55) and a chambray frock with an adorable bow detail ($53). Avenue aims to be a one-stop shopping spot and succeeds, stocking slimming swimsuits ($40–$69) that come with a built-in tummy-control panel, footless and textured tights ($10), one-size-fits-all stretch rings ($10) and wide-width shoes up to size 12. There’s even a section for shape wear ($27–$37) and underwire bras ($23–$32), up to 46DD in the store and 48DDD online.
