Brenna Boyce and Daniel Lewis of Brooklyn Tailors

Who they are: California transplants and a soon-to-be-married couple that moved to New York four years ago, and founded Brooklyn Tailors in 2007. They run operations out of their Clinton Hill apartment-cum-workshop.

About their line: It focuses on “the core pieces in a guy’s uniform,” says Lewis, who, along with Boyce, wants to revive the tradition of custom tailoring. Bespoke suits and shirts can be ordered in a dizzying panoply of fabrics, including oxford, gingham and plaid cottons, and linen. The artisanal label also maintains a small stock of ready-to-wear shirts in a signature slim-fit cut, and plans to launch a line of women’s made-to-order and ready-to-wear shirts this month.
