Legendary New York City store Loehmann's is coming back—as an online boutique

The iconic department store is being brought back from the dead, and reopening as an online-only shop

This week's issue of Time Out New York features a story about shops that can help fill the void if your favorite NYC store closes. We mentioned Loehmann's, which shuttered all of its locations last year, and picked Gabay's Outlet and Century 21 as worthy replacements. But now there's another option to add to that list of Loehmann's alternatives: Loehmann's!

That's right—WWD reports that the designer discount store is making a comeback next month. But instead of reopening its outposts around the city, Loehmann's is returning as an online shop. The launch is scheduled for sometime in May, and shoppers can expect to find the same higher-end brands (at bargain prices, of course) that Loehmann's has always carried. The report also states that much of the selection will skew toward the millennial shopper. Is it May yet?!
