After several years of globe-trotting in search of high-end wares that she couldn’t find on Madison Avenue, former marketing agency owner Randi Jacobson decided to tote her souvenirs back to the States and showcase them in this super-luxe women’s boutique. Expect nothing but the best in clothes, accessories and home decor at this posh loftlike space that’s outfitted with slick glass fixtures, modern glossy white floors and a smattering of baroque details, like the ornate silver-framed mirrors hanging in the fitting rooms. Along with a selection of pieces from well-known designer Thierry Mugler, Realm will offer selections from new fashion-forward labels such as Jean-Claude Jitrois, Iris von Arnim and Ermanno Scervino. The Below the Belt leather studded belts ($225–$275), Alexis Mabille black sheer dresses ($2,535) and Martin Grant camel coats ($2,310) just might be worth eating ramen for the next few months, if only to tote your purchase home in the custom Plexiglas Realm shopping bags that put paper and plastic varieties to shame. As an added nudge to drop serious cash, big spenders are rewarded with free car service to and from the store in a Bentley and are privy to extended private shopping hours.
