Suicide, Incorporated

Gabriel Ebert and James McMenamin deliver sensational, keenly observed performances as souls in pain in Andrew Hinderaker’s frequently touching black comedy about a consulting firm for suicide notes. But the tidy satiric package can’t quite contain performances of this size, and Hinderaker works against himself, yanking his play off its comic axis.—Helen Shaw
