A Downton Abbey tea truck is rolling into NYC

Next week, PBS is sending a tea-and-biscuit mobile to town in advance of the fourth season of its hit Brit series

Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey

Everyone's favorite TV series about the early-20th-century British upper class (and the folks who work for them) returns to U.S. airwaves on January 5, and to celebrate, PBS is bringing a sacred British custom to town: A Downton Abbey mobile tea truck is headed for us as a promo for the show's fourth season. The teahouse-on-wheels will dispense free cuppas and biscuits by a crew dressed in period garb, and we can only imagine the getups some local fans of the Crawleys will break out.

The roving tea machine will be here Monday through Friday, 11am to 7pm (Thursday's event will run from noon to 8pm). Here's where you can find the truck:

Monday, December 9: E 14th St at University Pl

Tuesday, December 10: Sixth Ave between 40th and 41st Sts

Wednesday, December 11: W 50th St between Sixth and Seventh Aves

Thursday, December 12: The New York Times Center, 41st St between Seventh and Eighth Aves

Friday, December 13: Broadway between 66th and 67th Sts
