Time Out says

Kathy Benson, who cocurated the Museum of the City of New York’s “Activist New York” exhibit, leads this trek around El Barrio. She’ll highlight the area’s history as a home for rabble-rousers, dating back to the 19th century, when Irish residents clamored that neighborhood rents were too damn high. Stops include the Young Women’s Leadership School and the First Spanish Methodist Church, which was briefly occupied by a Puerto Rican nationalist group in 1969. For required registration, call 917-492-3395.
